Anna Banana – Port Antonio, Portland

We visited the restaurant Anna Banana in Port Antonio for a quick bite to eat. The food was in many ways below par, I had visited before and the meal was excellent then. The real story of this little seaside restaurant however is its beauty. You could eat sand there and still enjoy the visit.

The Rio Grande Valley – Portland

My Grandfather died, I went back to the home of my father’s father in the Rio Grande Valley, and got some cool pictures while I was at it. The home coming was bitter sweet! R.I.P Grandad.

The High Life, The Good Life

After much internal debate and Smirnoff Black Ice, I have finally managed to put the first issue of xhanubis together. Unfortunately I can’t at this time say whether it is going to be monthly or quarterly as it all depends on a whole shit load of other stuff. – News Posted on The High Life, The Good Life – April 11 2004

This for me was my first attempt at creating an online magazine dedicated to Jamaica, as seen through my eyes. This was the birth of what was eventually to become ‘Life in Jamaica’. 7 years later the desire to share not only the culture of my country but also my unique point of view still remains strong and 50+ articles later, Life has continued to fulfill its original mandate while exploring new topics and issues beyond the cloud of smoke.

Mandate
Life is an attempt to capture snapshots of the culture of urban Jamaica as embraced by the herbalists, smokers and non-smokers alike. It is an urban expose in the characters and culture which make up the local herbal landscape. It is an indulgence in the sights, sounds, and movements which rebel against social norms even while creating them.

Recently…I found the original files for what to date is still one of my favorite projects and I am posting them so you can once again enjoy The Good Life
